Be A Storm Chaser with The Portable Weather Pod

It's no secret I like toys with an educational twist. Any toy that can provide hours of imaginative fun-and sneak in some learning along the way-is a hit with me. While my kids are not often enthused with my efforts to add education into their activities, Backyard Safari Outfitters has my back. With their emphasis on backyard adventures they encourage kids to take an active look at nature.
We received the Storm Chaser Mobile Weather Pod to test. Most kids, having watched shows like Storm Chasers, see this as an exciting career. Since the seven year old and I were caught in a freak tornado a couple of years ago that picked up our vehicle and moved it through the air our taste for adventure has been realized. The Mobile Weather pod seemed like a safe way to chase storms.

The Portable Weather Pod is an ideal instrument for expert data collection that can be used in almost any kind of weather. You can now track and monitor rain, sleet, hail, now, and wind with ease. Use the compass to aid you in finding true north. The weather vane will show you which direction the wind is blowing, and the anemometer monitors wind speed. Use the water gauge to collect and measure rainfall. The temperature gauge indicates current air temps and the extendable legs offer support on a flat surface. Comes with the Storm Chaser collectable patch and pop guide!

For anyone who homeschools this is an ideal addition to a science unit of weather. Instead of buying a variety of products, the weather pod includes everything you need for a beginning study. For everyone else this is a fun activity to do with the kids. It encourages learning, family time, and most importantly, activities outside away from video games or the television. The seven year old has been using it and has decided learning about weather is "awesome."

Designed for ages five and up, the Mobile weather pod is sturdy and well constructed. It should last through many outdoor expeditions.

Severe weather passed thru our area tonight & I can't help but think this mobile weather pod would help keep the kids off the scary weather. Great timing.

That is way cool. I don't think we'd find anything interesting with it down here in San Antonio, but where you are I'll bet you can read tons of interesting stuff with it.
