Fun Bites for Picky Eaters

My kids are picky eaters. I can find something I think they like. After serving it once a week for two weeks the kids tell me, "Why are you fixing this dish all the time? We don't like this anymore." Finding something to pack in their lunches over the years has been a challenge. I wanted to encourage healthy food that didn't end up in the trash. I tried adding notes, making special dishes, and making fun food. The other kids were impressed with their lunches. My kids were able to trade for a supply of sweet treats and other goodies. Not exactly what I had in mind.

I've discovered the kids will eat much better (even now!) if their food is "snack sized." Being able to pick up a few bites at a time encourages them to eat healthier food. Fun Bites are cute new food cutters recommended for children ages three to ten. I can use them on fruits, cheese, sandwiches, pancakes, and more. I've discovered having fruit in fun shapes is a lot more fun than eating plain fruit.

Funbites consist of two pieces. One is the cutter that is placed on the food. By rocking it back and forth a few times it will cut the food. (Tip: Be sure to use a flat surface.) Then use the matching popper to pop up the food. We don't have to touch the food. My germaphobic son thinks this is the best idea ever! I like being able to make a variety of simple, healthy foods the kids will eat in minutes.

If you know anything about me you know I am a firm believer in using the dishwasher whenever I can. These are top drawer dishwasher safe so not only do my hands stay clean during use they stay clean when I'm washing them too!

You can find out more about Funbites by visiting them on Twitter and facebook.

These look great! My son is a super picky eater too, so I need inventive ways to get him to eat healthier.

My kids would have loved this when they were younger! Would make a great gift for my sister who has younger ones at home!
